‘The Lion King’ Roars In Fort Lauderdale
The Iconic Broadway Hit Takes The Stage At The Broward Center For The Performing Arts
Disney Theatrical Group and Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale Series have announced the highly anticipated return of “The Lion King” for a four-week engagement, running from March 6-30.
Celebrating 26 years on Broadway, “The Lion King” stands as one of the world’s most popular stage musicals. Since its debut in November 1997, the production has captivated audiences worldwide, reaching more than 120 million viewers. In North America, “The Lion King” has toured for more than 22 years, boasting more than 10,000 performances in over 90 cities, making it the longest-running and most-attended Broadway tour in the region.
With six Tony Awards and 70 major arts honors, including the 1999 Grammy for best musical show album, “The Lion King” tells a timeless story of hope and adventure, brought to life by stunning visuals and dazzling costumes. The play also showcases the extraordinary work of Tony Award-winning choreographer Garth Fagan and features unforgettable tunes by Tim Rice and Elton John.
