Rain or shine, The Betsy Hotel brings music to Miami Beach all summer long. Located in the heart of the Art Deco Historic District, the Michelin Key boutique resort once again hosts its celebrated classical music series in partnership with the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival (MMF).
Free and open to the public, the series features the return of the popular Opera on the Terrace, intimate performances by MMF student musicians and a lineup of engaging master classes. Recognized as a cultural cornerstone on Ocean Drive, The Betsy continues its mission to support the next generation of musicians while making classical music accessible to the community.
Catch a quick and captivating music moment with Opera on the Terrace. These 30-minute pop-up performances by MMF soloists bring to life opera favorites and Broadway classics. Performances take place July 5-7, 11, 16 and 17 from 8:30 to 9 p.m. on the hotel’s terrace. In case of rain, the show moves indoors to the Piano Bar.
Student musicians from MMF’s Orchestral Institute will take the stage for the Chamber Music Concert on July 14, from 8 to 9 p.m., at the hotel’s Gallery.
For those craving an open-air experience, the Ocean Drive Promenade Sunday Sunset Concerts at Lummus Park offer the perfect pairing of live music and waterfront views. Held every Sunday through July 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., they take place just steps from the hotel.
Aspiring musicians can join MMF’s series of master classes led by renowned professionals, including Robert Dundas, associate professor and director of opera theater at Florida International University (FIU); David Toulson, MMF resident stage director; Manny Perez, voice teacher and artistic consultant; Sandra Lopez Neil, internationally acclaimed soprano; Marc Callahan, bass-baritone and MMF assistant professor; and Grant Gilman, MMF conductor.
And the music doesn’t stop there — jazz aficionados can enjoy The Betsy’s signature daily jazz sessions. Hosted nine times a week in the hotel’s iconic Piano Bar, these performances spotlight award-winning jazz musicians from around the world.
