A Toast To Excellence
An Exclusive Wine Experience With George Miliotes At The Broward Center For The Performing Arts
Step into the world of fine wine with George Miliotes — restaurateur, wine expert and one of only 279 master sommeliers in the world — at an exclusive wine tasting experience at Marti’s Bistro at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Held on April 27 and May 25 at 1:30 p.m., this immersive afternoon promises to delight seasoned oenophiles and budding enthusiasts alike.
Attendees will explore six carefully selected wine varieties while learning the refined art of blind tasting. Miliotes will share personal stories from his journey in the wine world, along with insight into the rigorous path to becoming a master sommelier. Enhancing the experience, wine lovers can enjoy a charcuterie board, perfectly paired with the wines, all set against the scenic backdrop of the New River and downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Miliotes, who currently lives in Orlando, earned his master sommelier pin in 2007 after passing a famously challenging series of exams — requiring precise identification of a wine’s grape variety, country and district of origin and vintage using only taste, sight and aroma. A firm believer in education, Miliotes continues to deepen his wine knowledge through constant study and global vineyard visits, from France to South Africa. His dedication to the craft makes this a rare chance to taste, learn and engage with one of the wine industry’s finest.
