From an early age, Boca Raton’s Amelie Phung has made her mark on the golf course. Alongside her sister, Alexandra, also a talented golfer, the pair have built a loyal social media following, where fans tune in to watch their powerful swings and precision play.
Phung’s drive doesn’t stop at the greens. A dedicated student-athlete, she was recently selected for the Acumatica-LGPA Foundation Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year — a prestigious honor awarded to young women who excel in golf, STEM, leadership and community service. Acumatica, a leading provider of cloud-based business management (ERP) software, partnered with the LPGA Foundation to support future female leaders through education, particularly in the fields where women remain underrepresented.
Phung, 17, is a nationally ranked golfer, a 2022 Palm Beach County Girls Player of the Year, a National Merit Scholar semifinalist, a Rolex Scholarship Jr. All-American and co-founder of STEM Prodigy, a nationwide tutoring and educational outreach program. A recent graduate of Florida Atlantic University High School, she’s headed to Rice University in Texas, where she’ll study mechanical engineering and pursue the school’s inaugural undergraduate degree in artificial intelligence (AI).
This chapter in her story brings yet another first. Phung is the first scholarship commit to Rice University’s newly established women’s golf team.
“I am forever grateful for the copious life lessons golf has taught me about the significance of balancing relationships, giving back to the community and appreciating opportunities,” says Phung. “I hope to continue to leverage my understanding of AI to help golfers and enterprises optimize their performance.”
