Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Steals The Show
Broadway’s Beloved Holiday Classic Comes To Fort Lauderdale
The Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale series, with presenting sponsor Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, has announced the arrival of Broadway’s No. 1 holiday hit “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” for eight magical performances at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts from Dec. 18-23.
Hailed by The New York Times as “100 times better than any bedtime story” and praised by Gannett as “A genius of a show! A total delight for both kids and adults,” this holiday favorite brings Dr. Seuss’ timeless tale to life with vibrant sets, elaborate costumes and memorable songs. Iconic hits like “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas,” from the original animated special, will be performed by a stellar cast.
According to a press release, “The Grinch discovers there’s more to Christmas than he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is ‘two sizes too small,’ decides to steal Christmas away from the holiday-loving Whos.” The theater’s website adds that “Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville and helps remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season.”
Since its initial two-year holiday run at New York’s St. James and Hilton theaters, more than 2.5 million theatergoers across the country have experience the joy of this uplifting holiday production.
