Caling all bibliophiles! The 40th Miami Book Fair is back Nov. 12-19, offering an exciting lineup for avid readers to fully immerse themselves in the fascinating world of literature.
The event’s centerpiece is the street fair, featuring hundreds of global book exhibitors, an artisanal marketplace with handcrafted items, live entertainment and culinary vendors.
What’s more, the fair also includes intimate conversations hosted by award-winning writers, both in-person and through the event’s online platform. These discussions delve into specific books, exploring the writer’s intentions and unveiling their creative process, allowing readers to ask questions and gain valuable insight into the author and their work. Attendees can also access authors’ presentations from previous festivals through the online platform.
Book lovers didn’t have to wait until November for the fun. The Miami Book Fair partners with Books & Books (owned by Mitch Kaplan, who played an active part in founding the book fair in 1984) and the Miami-Dade Public Library System for an interactive reading challenge. Throughout October, participants downloaded a Miami Reads Card onto their mobile devices, featuring 16 authors, their books and online presentations. Upon completing the card, readers had the chance to win prizes, including free books and tickets to the fair.
Whether you’re into fiction, sci-fi, nonfiction, thrillers, history, cookbooks, poetry or more, there’s something for all, including kids! And for those who compare the excitement of being at the festival to Disneyland, you’ll be happy to know that the Miami Book Fair also hosts events throughout the year, ensuring South Florida’s book lovers can enjoy the same rush year-round.
