Whether you’ve been a Boca Raton local for decades or just settled in, 2025 is shaping up to be a year to remember. The city is marking its 100th anniversary (the town of Boca Raton was officially incorporated on May 26, 1925) and a yearlong celebration is underway to honor the monumental milestone.
Festivities kicked off in January with a curated mix of family-friendly events, community gatherings and public art installations (have you spotted the new sculpture in Sanborn Square?). The year wraps up with Boca’s traditional holiday parade with a special centennial theme. However, before summer arrives, two standout events in May are already stealing the spotlight.
On May 24, the Centennial Celebration Weekend Concert will light up the Mizner Park Amphitheater, a cherished spot for locals featuring top headlining artists under the stars. The celebration continues on May 25 at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus (BRiC) with the Centennial Celebration Weekend Drone Show. This cutting-edge event will feature dazzling synchronized drone displays, creating breathtaking visuals in honor of the city’s 100-year history. As the birthplace of the IBM personal computer, BRiC is a fitting location to showcase Boca Raton’s legacy of innovation and its transformation from a quaint resort town to a thriving hub of progress.
For those looking to add their own spin to the celebration, the “Ode to Boca” program invites you to craft a five-line poem inspired by the numbers of your zip code — a unique and creative way to show your love for the city. Looking to get more involved? Show your support by volunteering, becoming a sponsor or even hosting your own centennial event.
Happy 100th, Boca Raton!
