Key lime isn’t just a flavor — it’s part of Key West’s identity. Nowhere is that more evident than at the Key Lime Festival, returning July 1–5 with a lineup that celebrates the fruit in all its forms, from cocktails to confections.
Enjoy the Key Lime Sip & Stroll, where bartenders showcase their most imaginative pours, or the Key Lime Pie Hop, which offers a tasting trail revealing just how many directions a single dessert can take — airy, dense, sharply tart or even subtly spiced.
Home bakers and pastry novices can sign up for mini-pie-making classes, learning to whisk, whip and assemble their own creation.
The festival isn’t afraid of a little friendly chaos, either. The Battle of the Bartenders turns mixology into a lively competition, while the Key Lime Pie Eating Championship invites participants to test their limits. At the Key Lime Pie Drop, contestants design contraptions to keep a pie intact after a fall from the pinnacle of the Key West Lighthouse.
The Key Lime Festival reflects Key West’s laid-back, quirky character and its long-standing affection for a fruit that has become synonymous with the island.
