Boca Raton will trade its beach towels for bike helmets when Friendship House launches its first Tour de Friendship — a 60-mile charity ride full of heart, handlebars and hope.
The event takes place on Nov. 9, starting at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast at the Friendship House campus on N. Military Trail. Cyclists, from weekend warriors to joyful cruisers, will pedal along the scenic A1A to Palm Beach and back. But this isn’t just a ride; it’s a movement. With a fundraising goal of $50,000, every mile supports children and young adults with special needs in South Florida.
Each rider commits to raising at least $1,500, earning not just a sleek custom jersey but the pride of powering programs that spark joy, friendship and inclusion. With pace groups, SAG vehicles and rest stops every 15 miles, riders are fully supported as they roll toward their goal.
“This ride turns passion into impact,” says Rabbi Sholom Kessler, executive director of Friendship House and the driving force behind the event. “It’s about inviting the community in.”
By 2 p.m., the finish line celebration will erupt with cheers, music and community spirit, as families and volunteers welcome the riders home.
Founded in 2020, Friendship House is rewriting the story for kids with disabilities, one friendship at a time. And on this day, every pedal stroke helps a child in need.
So grab your bike, your heart and your purpose. Tour de Friendship is more than a ride — it’s a revolution of kindness on wheels.
