Jazz Fest Pompano Beach celebrates its fifth year with a full weekend of music along the shoreline this April 18–19. The festival brings together award-winning artists, rising stars and homegrown talent for two days of jazz, funk and soulful performances.
Saturday features the melodic flute stylings of Kim Scott, who opens the festival with contemporary sounds. Also on the lineup is saxophonist Richard Elliot, who blends smooth jazz with the pulse of funk and R&B. The high-octane finale comes from Brian Culbertson, who combines jazz, funk and soul while playing piano and trombone, creating a spectacular show with his band.
Sunday brings pianist Martin Bejerano’s Prince tribute, The Purple Project; the warm sound of Walter Beasley; and funk fusion from the ensemble Ghost-Note. Y100 music director Drew Heyman will host both days, adding his deep musical insight and charismatic storytelling to the event.
Along with groove-worthy performances, Jazz Fest Pompano Beach emphasizes community, with a selection of local food vendors adding to the experience. General admission is free, although advance registration is required. VIP passes include premium seating and access to a private bar. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the shoreline setting.
