Gather the family, and get ready for some fun, courtesy of the Museum of Discovery and Science.
The Fort Lauderdale venue is hosting Virtual Camp Discovery, offering a plethora of virtual STEM videos that range from storytime to hands-on activities to science demonstrations. New videos are uploaded every weekday morning, and there’s something for everyone.
Wondering what to do with all that extra toilet paper – or the cardboard inside each roll? Tune into “Fun With Toilet Paper” to learn to make a kazoo, a rice shaker and even a bridge for toy cars.
More than 50 videos are sure to keep kids busy through the end of summer. Check out “Colorful Chemistry” to discover the difference between acids and bases. You can also learn how to make a parachute, study moon craters, create a frozen dessert with liquid nitrogen and meet the museum’s North American river otters.
Storytime includes the classic “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” and “Oh Say Can You Say Di-no-saur?”
Virtual Camp Discovery, sparked by the pandemic, offers a chance to keep science at the forefront of families.
