Jazz lovers in South Florida, get ready to groove! After a triumphant 2024 debut, the Montreux Jazz Festival — hailed as the crown jewel of jazz worldwide — is returning to our shores, once again bringing a distinctively Miami flair to the stage.
From Feb. 28 – March 2, jazz fans will be treated to a unique musical adventure at The Hangar of Regatta Cove, an intimate 1,500-seat venue tucked in the heart of Coconut Grove. This year’s all-star lineup features five-time Grammy and Academy Award-winning Jon Batiste & Friends; the dynamic and genre-bending Janelle Monáe and the lively Afro-Cuban jazz jam, “La Descarga.” Also gracing the stage will be the Bogotá-based ensemble Monsieur Periné, Latin Grammy-nominated for Record of the Year in 2024.
Batiste, a virtuoso instrumentalist celebrated for his captivating live performances and moving soundtracks for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and Disney’s animated movie “Soul,” is also a co-owner of the festival.
He shared his excitement, saying: “Bringing the soul of Montreux to the heart of Miami is an honor. It’s a rare festival where the room is intimate and musical collaboration and improvisation are central to the experience. We had an unforgettable experience last year and can’t wait to be back.”
As the Montreux Jazz Festival grows its global presence in cities like São Paulo, Singapore, Monaco and Tokyo, this iconic event — celebrating 50 years of breathtaking performances, world-class acoustics and electric atmosphere — is primed to continue spreading the true spirit of jazz in The Magic City.
