With five miles of pristine beaches, 49 outdoor parks and 1,650 acres of recreational space, Boca Raton is a sun-soaked playground for fun. This year, it’s turning up the excitement with the “Summer in the City” concert series, a free, open-to-the-public event lighting up Mizner Park Amphitheater from June 13 to Aug. 8.
In celebration of Boca Raton’s 100th anniversary, this season’s lineup brings a mix of unforgettable hits, beginning with a heartfelt tribute to Fleetwood Mac, followed by a soul-stirring homage to music legends Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie on June 20. Country music lovers can mark their calendars for June 28, when Billy Currington and Kip Moore bring their signature sounds and Southern charm to the stage. The month wraps up on a high note with Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) Summer Concert Band’s family-friendly performance on June 29.
Santana and the Steve Miller Band will perform on July 11, followed by a tribute to the iconic ‘80s band The Cure on July 18. Scheduled for July 25, “Women of Country” honors the genre’s leading ladies with heartfelt lyrics and high-energy hits.
Rounding out the season is one of summer’s most anticipated events: the 5th Annual Battle of the Bands & Young Entrepreneurs Marketplace. This electrifying competition showcases some of the region’s most talented and up-and-coming bands as they battle for the grand prize — and ultimate bragging rights — before a lively, music-loving crowd.
