Area youngsters with an interest in the Great White Way still have time to sign up for Virtual Broadway Intensive.
The online experience is offered by the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale July 13-17, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.
“Join us for five days of new discoveries, active learning and artistic creation – all while exploring the multi-faceted world of Broadway – led by Broward Center Artist-In Residence Tammy Holder, Education Programs Manager Tim Maynes and guest dance instructor Michael Stanek,” according to a press release.
Designed for the ultimate young Broadway fan (ages 10-18), the new program is a week-long immersive experience that can be enjoyed from the comfort of home. It includes small group instruction in singing, dancing and acting; specialized sessions covering various facets of the Broadway experience, including choreography, directing, tech theater and audition prep; interactive daily masterclasses with Broadway professionals; and collaboration with peers to discuss what participants learn each day.
No experience is required, and a limited number of scholarships is available, thanks to the Ronald Plotkin Scholarship Fund. O
