David N. Kenigsberg, MD, FACC, FHRS is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist who has been practicing electrophysiology in South Florida since 2007. He is a founding member of Florida Heart Rhythm Specialists, PLLC, an EP-only practice serving northern Broward County. In addition, Dr. Kenigsberg is the co-founder of Fort Lauderdale Heart and Rhythm Surgical Center.
Dr. Kenigsberg received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami and his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Subsequently, he performed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Kenigsberg then went on to a cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. Finally, he completed his training with a two-year electrophysiology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Kenigsberg is currently Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Dr. Kenigsberg has published numerous scholarly articles in peer-reviewed medical journals on many topics germane to electrophysiology. He has been the primary investigator/co-investigator in a myriad of clinical trials involving ablation tools, device and lead development and device programming. In addition, Dr. Kenigsberg has been involved in the development of intellectual property utilizing cardiac devices for the early detection of patients at risk for a heart attack.
