The Helping Israel Fund was started as an initiative to support Israel-based organizations assisting members of the Israel Defense Forces. The mission of the Helping Israel Fund is to raise funds for organizations that have a valuable contribution to the security and safety of Israel. It does so through a variety of charity events and fundraising campaigns, with the major fundraiser being an annual golf tournament. Organizations and projects sponsored by the Helping Israel Fund are carefully selected, ensuring that funds raised have an optimal impact and go to projects with minimal to no administrative fees.
A sampling of our campaigns include:
Our Adopted Units
The Helping Israel Fund has adopted the Arayot HaYarden (Lions of Jordan) Brigade and the Border Patrol’s Training Base. Arayot HaYarden is one of the IDF’s newest combat brigades open to both men and women. Our sponsorship of the units goes towards many forms of assistance for the soldiers.
Our Warm Corner Fund
Soldiers on patrol must take army-mandated breaks over the course of their long shifts, but sometimes there is nowhere safe or comfortable to stop. We have built several “Warm Corners” to provide such soldiers with a place to relax and “recharge their batteries” while on break. The Warm Corners are located securely at the guarded entrances of towns in areas patrolled by the army. They are fully stocked with free food and beverages for the soldiers’ enjoyment. We have Warm Corners located at Negohot, Nokdin and Halutza with plans to build another one in 2020.
Other campaigns include but are not limited to:
The Lone Soldiers Fund
The Needy Soldier Fund
The Soldier Scholarship Fund
The Brigadier-General E. Ralph Lupin Memorial Widows and Orphans Fund
