Interventional Pain/Spine Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Less is more according to Giuseppe Paese, DO, FAAPMR. Dr. Paese’s goal is to alleviate pain and restore every patient to their highest level of function using the latest minimally invasive techniques.
“There are many options for getting rid of pain versus medicine,” he says.
Dr. Paese has more than 20 years in clinical practice and academics. He is a distinguished Key Opinion Leader (KOL), traveling the country teaching doctors how to perform implants of several devices.
He is board certified in pain medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), sports medicine, chiropractic and stem cell therapies. He is noted for his minimally invasive spine and joint procedures, including spinal cord stimulators, endoscopic neurotomy, sacroiliac joint fusion, regenerative medicine using stem cells and treatment of pickleball injuries.
“At the Advanced Relief Institute, we can be a one-stop shop, starting with injections and if necessary, we can do device implants and surgeries. We can take care of 90% of the problems that come through the door,” says Dr. Paese.
Part of what makes the practice unique is its regenerative medicine treatments. It is involved in research projects and offers cutting-edge regenerative medicine technology, like various off shoots of Stem cells, that aren’t widely available. Dr. Paese’s work is also set apart by his bedside manner. “I spend a lot of time with patients so they feel important. We don’t run them through here like a mill. I care; I want to provide everything they need.”
Dr. Paese graduated from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his PM&R residency and Pain Medicine fellowship at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University.
He says with a smile, “I studied a lot of specialties. I have gone back to school many times.”
Dr. Paese started his career as a chiropractor and advanced into sports and pain medicine. For many years, he combined work with his love of martial arts; he has black belts. He did ringside medicine for fighters in the UFC, (Ultimate Fighting Championship), doing physicals, evaluating fighters before and after bouts.
He takes pride in successfully treating everything from spinal stenosis, chronic pain to sports injuries. He’s driven by his goal: “to help patients regain function and improve their quality of life.”
