Boca Raton is set to welcome a new assisted living community. B2K Development, the company behind The Bristal Assisted Living — the New York tri-state area’s leading provider of independent living, assisted living and memory care services — is under contract to acquire five acres on Congress Avenue. This will mark The Bristal’s first location in South Florida.
“We’ve been looking at South Florida for quite a while,” says Jan Burman, Chairman of B2K Development. “We have tremendous name recognition here.” He explains that many snowbirds from the tri-state area are familiar with The Bristal’s reputation. “We’re well-regarded among aging adults and we believe we’ll be the community of choice when they need assisted living.”
The company has also enlisted a specialist to scout land for six or more additional locations of The Bristal across South Florida, from Stuart to Miami.
The Bristal’s story began in 1999, and over the past 25 years, it has grown to include more than 26 communities across the tri-state area. “It’s always been about families,” says Burman. “We’re here to care for people who need it most and to give families peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in good hands.” Families caring for loved ones have shared that they can finally rest easy, knowing their relatives are safe and supported. “They trust us to take care of their loved ones,” Burman adds.
Beyond The Bristal, B2K’s Long Island portfolio includes multifamily brands such as The Seasons, Sutton Landing and The Brix. The company is exploring opportunities to bring these residential offerings to South Florida as well.

With an MBA in finance from Syracuse University, Burman began his career as a CPA before transitioning to real estate. Over time, he expanded into residential real estate, leading B2K Development’s growth into a portfolio of thousands of diversified residences as well as cofounding Wellbridge, a groundbreaking joint venture with Northwell Health, setting a new standard in addiction treatment and research.
