As the visionary founder and principal designer of BE Design Associates Inc., Elmar R. Benavente has spent more than 24 years shaping exceptional architecture and interior spaces. His work has always been driven by a passion for elevating design, pushing creative boundaries and delivering bespoke solutions to his clients.
However, while working on high-end projects in South Florida, Benavente often encountered a challenge: a lack of truly customizable, world-class design solutions. Local showrooms offered luxury, but not the flexibility and craftsmanship he envisioned. Then, on a trip to Portugal, he discovered Covet House, a brand that immediately captivated him.
“I was blown away by the craftsmanship, the range of materials and the sheer design possibilities,” Benavente recalls. “Twelve brands under one roof, offering everything from furniture to lighting, metal, stone and wood — all fully customizable. It was unlike anything I had seen before.”
That visit turned into a conversation with the Covet House leadership team, sparking an idea that would change South Florida’s interior design landscape.
“I told them, ‘There is nothing like this in the U.S. You need to open one in Florida,’” Benavente says. “Then it hit me: Why not be the one to introduce this vision to Boca Raton?”
Just eight months later, in 2024, Benavente launched the first-ever Covet House showroom in Boca Raton. Unlike traditional showrooms, Covet House is a design experience hub — a place where designers, architects and builders can find complete solutions.
“We’re not just selling furniture,” he says. “We’re offering a platform for creativity, a space where designers can visualize their ideas, explore materials and create fully customized pieces with limitless potential.”
With an in-house 3D rendering service, designers can preview every piece before it’s built, ensuring flawless integration into their projects. Material samples, finish selections and curated design concepts provide everything needed to turn inspiration into reality.
“I want designers, architects and creatives to feel inspired the moment they walk in,” he says. “To see that there are no limits to what they can create. This is a place where we push boundaries together.”
