Jon May, who founded Creative Criminal Defense Consultants in Boca Raton, is known for thinking outside the box. His firm takes a creative and edgy approach to law. “I find solutions to problems that have stumped other lawyers,” he says. “I don’t assume that the way things have always been done are the way things have to be done.” And over the course of the last 48 years, he has endeavored to educate fellow lawyers on the ways they can become more innovative in their approach to their practices.

May is one of the leading lawyers in the resistance movement against the Department of Justice where the DOJ has attempted to undermine the rule of law in pursuit of President Donald Trump’s objectives. He was the Complainant in the bar complaint initiated against former United States Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi filed in 2025 and is continuing his efforts to seek her disciplined by The Florida Bar. Those efforts are supported by a coalition of judges, law professors, former prosecutors, private practitioners and national organizations.
May continues to represent individuals and companies under investigation or prosecution around the nation. He has tried cases around the country, successfully representing heads of corporations. He has assisted some of the top lawyers in the nation in defending their clients.
He is chair of the Amicus Committee of Lawyers for the Rule of Law. LFRL is defending the judiciary, government lawyers, agents and private attorneys being targeted for retribution for their allegiance to the rule of law.
He says he has never worked a day in his life. “Law is so joyful for me,” he says. “I love being in court and writing books and articles. Every aspect of my practice is exciting.”
