Medical And Cosmetic Dermatology
Francesca Lewis, M.D., FAAD, originally intended to become a veterinarian during her college years. Having grown up around horses and pets, she was naturally drawn to the animal care field. She spent a summer shadowing both a pulmonologist and a veterinarian specializing in horses, which is when she realized her true passion lay in human medicine.
“I was inspired by the rapport and strong relationships the doctor had with his patients,” Dr. Lewis recalls. “Seeing a physician who was so empathetic and loved by those around him led me to shift my focus.”
Today, Dr. Lewis is a board-certified dermatologist, specializing in both general and cosmetic dermatology. In 2016, she founded Delray Dermatology & Cosmetic Center in Delray Beach, where she provides comprehensive medical and aesthetic dermatologic care. Her clinic is staffed with a team of professionals, including two plastic surgeons, a Mohs surgeon, three aestheticians, physician assistants and a nurse practitioner. In 2024, Delray Dermatology & Cosmetic Center was honored with the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award.
Dr. Lewis enjoys treating a range of dermatologic conditions, including acne, rosacea, psoriasis and skin cancer, both through diagnosis and surgical management. However, her primary focus lies in cosmetic dermatology. With extensive experience in cosmetic injectables, such as Botox and dermal fillers, she ensures that her practice stays up to date with the latest advancements in technology, always prioritizing the best outcomes for her patients.
“I love that I can address both medical and cosmetic concerns comprehensively,” Dr. Lewis explains. “If I didn’t offer both, I’d be doing my patients a disservice.” Additionally, Dr. Lewis trains other physicians in the proper use of injectable fillers for Allergan and Galderma.
A passionate educator, Dr. Lewis is committed to helping patients understand their conditions and treatment options. She recognizes that a diagnosis can be overwhelming and ensures that her patients are fully informed about their options, recovery times and costs.
“Education is empowerment,” she says. “By educating my patients, they can make confident, informed decisions about their care.”
Dr. Lewis graduated from Vanderbilt University before attending Emory University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her internship and dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Lewis has presented at numerous dermatology conferences and published research in dermatology journals.
