Adam E. Richards
Construction Attorney
Adam E. Richards, a construction attorney for Dickinson Wright in Fort Lauderdale, is more than a legal advisor; he’s a partner invested in your project’s success.
Richards is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar — a distinction earned by less than 1% of Florida lawyers. He’s passionate about guiding clients through Florida’s construction and development landscape, offering support from agreement negotiation to dispute resolution efforts post-completion.
“Having that diverse construction practice allows me to stay ahead of business and legal trends while also evolving for the next contract or dispute.”
His project portfolio includes private projects such as hotels, multifamily/student housing and one of the tallest residential towers in the country; public infrastructure projects such as roads, expressways, plants, courthouses and airports; and luxury homes.
Richards highlights the time he served as General Counsel and Vice President of Operations for South Florida’s largest residential roofing contractor. This experience deepened his understanding of not only the construction industry, but of entrepreneurship and business, including operations, processes, management and customer service.
“Working side by side with the CEO was truly invaluable and eye-opening. I am confident that my growth as a professional has allowed me to provide that much better service to my clients as their trusted counsel, so that opportunity is something I will always be grateful for.”
Richards represents all players in a construction project, including developers, owners, associations, contractors, subcontractors and design professionals and does so in a variety of construction law issues such as delays, nonpayment, lien or bond claims, defects, loss events/damage to property, catastrophic injuries/fatalities and risk transfer/indemnity matters whether pre-suit, litigation or arbitration.
“My clients know that I care, deeply, and will go to the ends of the earth for them. Whether a large or small matter, whether retained or not, I approach each client with the next 25 years in mind. They want me in their corner, and that’s what it’s all about.”
As a full-service law firm with 21 offices across North America, Dickinson Wright has more than 500 attorneys serving clients in 40 practice areas and 16 industry groups.
