Neil Schiller
Government Law Attorney
If you have been to, or watched, a City or County Commission meeting, you have likely seen Neil Schiller in action. Whether representing developers on their latest projects, helping clients sell their goods and services to governments, or advocating for policy changes, Schiller has made his mark in our community.
As the co-founder and partner in the newly formed Government Law Group, Schiller and his 20-year partner, Keith Poliakoff, represent clients who interface with government. From land use and zoning to government contracts, municipal representation, and complex litigation, the young firm has been at the forefront of local and county government issues since its inception.
“Dealing with government takes a unique understanding of the law and politics,” says Schiller, who attended the University of Miami undergrad and law school. “There are so many competing factors to take into consideration that an effective governmental advocate needs to be prepared for everything. This is live theater — anything can happen, and it usually does.”
Schiller’s roster of clients includes a wide array of groups, from national companies like Public Storage, Brightline, Axon Enterprise, Wawa and American Humane, to more local companies like GL Homes, Rapoport’s Restaurant Group, Kimco Realty, Boca Lago Master Association and Feeding South Florida.
“My unique experience as an attorney and political consultant gives me the ability to deliver a 360-degree representation for my clients, addressing the legal, business, political and public relations issues all at once, which puts them in the best position for success,” he explains.
Schiller attributes his success to working hard, his varied experiences and his creative problem-solving. “I embrace my clients’ ultimate goals and then do everything humanly and legally possible to reach them.”
He also has a history of volunteerism in the community, serving on the Boca Raton Planning & Zoning Board, the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, the Boca Raton Bowl Executive Committee, the Jewish Association for Residential Care, the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce and the West Boca Community Council, among others.
