Daniel Weitz, M.D.
Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiologist
For over a decade, Daniel Weitz, M.D., FHRS, has been at the forefront of treating complex heart rhythm disorders in South Florida. As the medical director of the electrophysiology lab at Holy Cross Hospital, Dr. Weitz has established a practice centered on procedural precision and the seamless integration of next-generation technology. He specializes in the treatment of atrial fibrillation — specifically high-volume Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) — and the management of complex, previously failed ablations.
“The priority is always clinical durability,” Dr. Weitz says. “Electrophysiology is a highly technical discipline that allows us to provide definitive solutions for patients who have often struggled for years with standard treatments. By utilizing PFA and advanced 3-D mapping, we address the most challenging cases with a focus on both safety and long-term outcomes.”
After training at the NYU School of Medicine and Columbia Presbyterian, Dr. Weitz completed his cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at NYU. Since 2012, he has been a pillar of the Holy Cross Medical Group, where he also oversees the strategic direction of the cardiology department. In addition to rhythm management, he is a leading provider of WATCHMAN implants, offering patients a proven way to mitigate stroke risk without the lifelong necessity of blood thinners.
“My approach is rooted in delivering a gold standard of care,” Dr. Weitz says. “Whether it is a stroke prevention device or a complex ablation, the goal is to return the patient to a normal, worry-free life. This requires staying ahead of the technological curve — continually vetting the latest evidence-based tools and refining our clinical workflow to ensure the best possible results.”
By balancing a high-volume clinical practice with a patient-first philosophy, Dr. Weitz ensures that every case is met with rigorous expertise. “True excellence in this field comes from listening to the patient’s specific goals and having the right technology and team in place to meet them,” he says. “The focus is always on delivering the highest level of care and ensuring the best possible outcome for every individual.”
