Michael Hummel, owner of Just Tile & Marble in Delray Beach, works every day with his daughter, Hayley. He calls her the future of the company. Hayley will take over the helm in the near future. “We have a good yin and yang,” says Hayley. “He has the years of experience that I don’t have yet. But I offer a fresh perspective on the industry.”
Just Tile Delray has been in South Florida since 1987. They’re custom wholesale importers of the finest materials made in Italy and the world. They offer an exclusive international line of imported porcelain tiles, slabs, mosaics and other natural stones as well as unique glass and metallic tiles. They have multiple sizes and finishes and cover all areas from inside to driveway to pool decks to balconies.
Their work is featured in $5 million to $100 million homes ranging from 5,000- to 35,000-square foot residences in South Florida and across the United States as well as international locations. Most of their South Florida properties are on the water, including Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club in Boca Raton and The Club at Admirals Cove in Jupiter. “We stand out for the personalized service we offer,” says Michael. “And that service comes from 38 years of experience in doing what we do.”
They’re known for being one of the largest facilities in the country that offers over 115 of 48 x 48 tiles in stock. They recently introduced porcelain tiles and slabs with a 3D leathered finish, a high-end surface texture that represents some of the latest advancements in tile technology. Michael personally designed grand-scale 63 x 63s in warmer palettes like ivories, beiges, creams and taupes. “I treat their house as if it was my own,” he says. “I wouldn’t get or make it if I wouldn’t put it in my house.”
Directly importing materials gives them the edge. Their buyers fly around the world to handpick quality material. Their travels take them to the finest quarries and best trade shows worldwide. “I love seeing the beginning stages of design from working with homeowners and designing with them and following through to the end of their project,” says Michael. “I love seeing the homeowner’s gratification from something we created that they can spend the rest of their lives enjoying.”
