More than fixtures and bulbs; LBU’s a place where relationships matter. While many lighting retailers face frequent staff turnover, LBU’s long-term employees know their craft, love their work and create a family atmosphere that draws loyal customers in for years.
One of LBU’s longtime strengths is its knack for embracing change early and staying ahead of industry trends. Owners Stan Civin and Jake Gersowsky recall that the company recognized the potential of LED lighting from the very beginning, even when others in the business hesitated to sell it.
“Right from the very start, we embraced LED technology,” says Civin. “There was a lot of opposition, initially…but it was the correct decision. LED lighting has changed the lighting world completely.”
Today, LED lighting is the industry standard, valued for its energy efficiency, long lifespan and dramatically improved quality. According to Civin, modern LED products now deliver exceptional performance, including Color Rendering Index (CRI) ratings above 90, a key benchmark for accurate, vibrant color.
Every year, LBU Lighting sends a large group of staff members to Lightovation, the industry’s biggest show in Dallas. “We do this every year,” says Gersowsky, “in order to strengthen vendor partnerships and to build product knowledge firsthand”. This ensures clients in Boca Raton receive the most informed lighting guidance possible.
Founded in 1986, LBU Lighting was built on the belief that home and outdoor lighting should offer top-of-the-line performance, reliability and thoughtful design. From its early focus on lightbulbs, the company has expanded into full LED systems, architectural lighting and custom solutions, while giving back to the South Florida community through charity sponsorships and donations.
