Seven years after graduating from Florida State University, Robert S. Winess, Esq., knew he could do more for himself and the community. So, he returned to school to earn his law degree. He has since been an attorney in Palm Beach County for over 20 years.
Winess is the founder of his Boca Raton-based civil litigation law practice, Robert S. Winess, P.A. He is a trial attorney who represents an array of corporate and individual clients on business matters such as commercial landlord/tenant issues, contract issues and various other aspects of business litigation. Winess also defends doctors in medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. People come to him as repeat clients or via word of mouth. “I try to be as efficient as possible in expediting the resolution of my client’s cases.”
His boutique practice offers individualized client attention. Cases are not farmed out to other attorneys.
“I’m hands-on with every one of my cases from inception to trial to appeal,” says Winess, who handles and oversees all work himself. He enjoys achieving positive results for his clients. “I love obtaining relief and finality in stressful matters.”

He prides himself on being completely transparent and brutally honest with clients. “I offer realistic expectations about the strengths and weaknesses of cases,” he says. “I’ll sooner pass on a case than take it on for the sake of obtaining a client.” He is in continuous communication with clients to keep them apprised of their case status and makes himself available 24/7.
A longtime Boca Raton resident, Winess is involved in local community service efforts. He earned his bachelor’s degree in International Affairs at Florida State University.
“I knew I wanted to make a change in my life.” Winess earned his Juris Doctor at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. He worked in the insurance defense field for four years before opening his own practice in 2007. “Few cases are too complex for me to handle,” he says. “I handle the cases that people mess up or pass on. I fix the unfixable.”
