They provide exceptional, personalized care that keeps you healthy, supported and empowered. “I advocate for my patients to give them the best care and dedicated support,” says Douglas Shapiro, D.O., a board-certified family medicine physician who owns the practice.
Each physician cares for no more than 70 families, far fewer than typical concierge practices where doctors care for 500 to 600 patients. “Our practice has one of the lowest doctor-to-patient ratios in the state of Florida,” says Dr. Shapiro. “It’s the highest level of dedication and care available.”
New patients meet with the doctor for two hours. Follow-up visits are an hour. They’ll set up appointments for specialists, labs and imaging facilities that are handpicked by Dr. Shapiro. They have connections at practices like the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic should you need those services. If you’re in the hospital, they’ll visit you there and be your advocate. They’ll pack you a medical kit for travel and provide surgical clearance and access to discounted vitamins and supplements. “Since we have a low doctor-to-patient ratio, we can oversee every detail in your care. We go above and beyond the norm. It’s a lot of high-end coordination that should be the standard of care in all practices. It’s like having a doctor in your family looking out for you.”
They don’t have a front desk or receptionist. You call Dr. Shapiro’s cell directly. Appointments are scheduled to guarantee no waiting and privacy.
Born and raised in Boca Raton, Dr. Shapiro attended Lynn University and went to medical school at Lincoln Memorial University - Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of South Carolina, Greenville. His physician peers recognized him as Tampa Top Doc in 2024 and 2025 for family medicine.
Dr. Shapiro and his wife, Lauren, opened the practice’s first location in Tampa in 2023 and the Boca Raton location in July 2025. They live in Tampa and split their time between the two practices. Dr. Shapiro is expanding to additional locations and seeking like-minded, board-certified physicians in family and internal medicine.
