Joanna Lubczanska
Senior Paralegal and Designer
Growing up in Poland, Joanna Lubczanska, ACP, FRP, was always intensely creative, creating clothing for her dolls by knitting, crocheting, embroidery and beading. “I also played with antique legal paperwork of my elderly uncle, a retired judge, whom I helped take care of,” she says.
Once she emigrated from Poland, she earned degrees in graphic design, fashion design and legal studies.
Those creative and legal worlds have come together in her position as a NALA Advanced Certified Paralegal and graphic designer at the firm Santucci Priore, a growing boutique law firm that provides representation in intellectual property, entertainment law, business law and civil litigation worldwide.
“As an intellectual property and litigation paralegal, I certainly relate more to our creative entrepreneurial clients and their issues since I am one myself and our clients relate to us because we are an experienced law firm comprised of artists,” Lubczanska says. “Intellectual property, particularly litigation avoidance, is essential to being a successful artist, designer, or business owner. You need to know how to protect your work and enforce your rights.”
Lubczanska immigrated to Fort Lauderdale and moved to Boca Raton with her son for its attractive lifestyle. She first started working with Michael Santucci in early 2000. “I enjoy working with the firm’s diverse clients who include celebrities, entrepreneurs, musicians, fashion and apparel makers, filmmakers, restaurants, small business owners and even some political leaders,” she says.
Lubczanska is working on designing, developing and protecting her own novel products in leisure/wellness, fashion, and healthcare.
“With my skills and knowledge in design and law, I am able to be inventive and creative,” she says. “I am currently drafting patent applications and drawings for a very special pillow designed using the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine for my own startup with my partners.”
When Covid struck in 2020 and there was a shortage of facemasks, Lubczanska designed a face mask with a virus-grade filter. “I felt compelled to help fill the overwhelming shortage, including providing masks for those on the frontlines,” Lubczanska says. “I am continuously learning and evolving as a designer, legal professional, project manager and entrepreneur.”
