Life is good for Tammy B. Saltzman, founder of TBS Law, P.A. in Boca Raton. She’ll soon be in business for 25 years. Her business is solid. Her reputation is stellar. Her employees are loyal. “Life is good,” she says.
She practices both family law (dissolution and paternity) and real estate law (residential and commercial). “I feel my success is because of customer and staff loyalty,” she says.
She gets emotional speaking about her staff. “I pride myself on not having a lot of turnover in my firm. When people come to work for me, their strengths are acknowledged and used. I couldn’t be me without them.”
She knows people have options when choosing a family or real estate lawyer. She feels they select her because of what she stands for. “People only do business with someone they know, like and trust.” To her, being described as honest by her stepson, Jared, was the best compliment she’s ever received. “It’s a crown I wear proudly,” she says. She holds that compliment higher than being called smart or beautiful. “All those other things I was born with,” she says. “Honesty is the cornerstone of my success.”
She’s focused on setting up her team for her retirement. “Moving forward I have succession on my mind,” she says. “I’m seeing what I can do now so that everyone in the office can stay with the company as long as they like.”
While she plans to work another 10 years, that doesn’t mean she’s done personally growing. “I have a lot to learn.” Part of that learning process is expanding her knowledge. She’s been participating in the 2022 RWorld Leadership Academy, which she’ll complete by year’s end. “I’ve been searching for a way to leave a legacy in the real estate side of my practice,” she says. “That’s the reason I signed up for the leadership academy. I learn something new each time I go.”
She definitely wants to grow her practice’s online presence. She plans to update her website, create videos and make TikToks. “I’m funny and self-depreciating,” she says. “I think I’d be good on TikTok.”
