Family Law Attorney Tammy Saltzman Puts Children First
Attorney Tammy Saltzman believes in putting children first – both in her family law practice and her charitable endeavors.
“My passion is for the children,” she says. “You can divorce your spouse, but you will be related through your children for the rest of your life. That’s why both parents should always think about what’s in the best interests of their children.”
Saltzman helps divorcing couples address their parental, emotional and financial issues in order to reach a mutual agreement. Trained in collaborative family law and a Florida-certified family mediator, she offers a monthly low-cost educational program – SecondSaturdayBocaRaton.com – on the impact of divorce. As a daughter, wife and parent, Saltzman has experienced the emotional turmoil and financial stresses facing her clients.
“I try to save marriages whenever possible,” she says.
Saltzman focuses her legal practice, TBS Law PA, on family law and mediation as well as specialized residential real estate title, escrow and closing services. She is also a powerful advocate for teenagers who need extra support to turn their lives around.
For instance, Saltzman helps raise funds for a 10-week juvenile summer program under the direction of Circuit Court Judge Luis Delgado that meets every Friday. She speaks to the young people about the importance of setting goals for themselves.
“It sounds very basic, but it’s difficult for kids who are homeless or have a parent in jail to look beyond their day-to-day survival,” she says.
Saltzman speaks regularly for the Alternative to Suspension Program, sponsored by the South Palm Beach County Bar Association, for students about to be suspended from school. She also donates to Best Foot Forward, which has a 100 percent success rate in helping foster kids graduate from high school and get into college.
“When foster children turn 18, their financial support from the state comes to a halt,” she says. “This program provides funds for college applications, computers or scholarships – some of the fundamental steps to moving ahead with their lives.”
