Luxury statement timepieces are an art and no one knows that better than Hunter Loring, whose expertise in selling, trading and buying luxury watches has earned him the title “The Watch Boss of Boca.” He has customers worldwide that include athletes, celebrities, musicians and nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram.
Born and raised in Boca Raton, Loring, 25, is the third generation in his family to enter the jewelry business. He learned from an early age about the niche market of pre-owned luxury watches.
“I started working at my grandparents’ jewelry store when I was 14 years old and I was buying scrap gold over the counter. I’ve always had a passion for entrepreneurship and a passion for jewelry and watches,” he says.
Loring worked for jewelry stores throughout high school to learn more about the industry.
He started The Watch Boss of Boca in 2018 sourcing high-end luxury timepieces for wholesale and retail clients, with an appointment-only office in Central Boca Raton and offering worldwide shipping.
His inventory includes Swiss luxury brand Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille and more — many models that are unobtainable at authorized dealers.
Loring is happy to share his passion with both first-time customers and seasoned watch collectors to help source the perfect timepiece. He buys and sells watches in a wide range of price points and regularly works with customers on trading and upgrading their luxury timepieces.
“I’ve handled sales from $5,000 to $500,000 and everything in between. There’s no sale too small or too big,” Loring says.
“Luxury watches are gaining popularity as alternative investments and are in high demand. Watches have outperformed the S&P over the past five years since 2018, in particular brands such as Rolex and Patek Philippe.”
