Special Expertise: Periodontics And Implant Dentistry
The South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry provides patients with some of the most sophisticated and safety driven care in South Florida. Throughout COVID-19, this team of professionals worked diligently to ensure that the most up-to-date protocols were implemented throughout the completion of a comprehensive office renovation.
At the same time, the practice continues to focus on providing cutting-edge technology such as the YOMI® robotic guidance system to optimize accuracy for complex dental implant surgical procedures.
“While we were the first practice worldwide to implement this technology five years ago, we continue to refine its use as the most sophisticated method for implant placement available,” says Frederic J. Norkin, D.M.D., a pioneer in the technology.
The practice also introduced new methods for full-mouth replacement of teeth with implant-supported restorations. Although they have been providing this care for 25 years, “we recently partnered with new technology companies to improve our methods, allowing us to achieve results more accurately and faster than in the past,” says Jeffrey Ganeles, D.M.D., F.A.C.D., an experienced periodontist and dental implant surgeon at the Boca Raton center.
During COVID-19, many patients started coming in with fractured or failed teeth, the result of what some believe has to do with increased grinding from stress, as well as delayed treatment.
“Over the years, we have treated countless patients suffering from what we refer to as ‘F-word’ patients, where F-stands for fractured or failed,” says Samuel Zfaz, D.D.S. “Our doctors and team remain committed to helping these emergency patients, typically rendering treatment, usually including tooth replacement with an implant and temporary crown, the same day.”
Adds Liliana Aranguren, D.D.S., M.D.Sc., “We are all skilled and experienced in managing these stressful, painful and seemingly impossible situations. Most importantly, our commitment is to ensure that no one leaves our office without teeth.”
While many dental practices were shrinking during the pandemic, the South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry grew a team of highly skilled and trained employees and even added an additional hygienist. “You don’t need a referral to see one of our doctors for preventative or other services, just call us!”
