Recently, a patient of David S. Kleinman, M.D., was so happy with her surgical results that she asked if she could hug the board-certified cardiac electrophysiologist. “That gesture made my day,” says Dr. Kleinman, who is part of Cardiovascular Care at Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group with offices in Delray Beach and Boca Raton. “I take great care of my patients and am focused on their well-being.”
Dr. Kleinman specializes in heart arrhythmias, including ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia. He has extensive experience performing pacemaker implants, Watchman™ left atrial appendage closure implants, defibrillator implants and catheter ablations for atrial fibrillation. “I get as much pleasure doing an office visit as a complicated procedure,” Dr. Kleinman says. “My goal is to make patients better.”
Dr. Kleinman has been with the group for nearly two years and has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years. “I’ve learned over the years that the more things change, the more they stay the same.” He explains that AFib (atrial fibrillation) is a chronic heart condition that can be made better with new technology. The Watchman™ procedure follows those same basic principles, too. “I focus on preventing strokes and symptom control, rather than doing procedures. Sometimes this requires doing a procedure and sometimes not. The focus is on the individual patient.”
Dr. Kleinman is on staff at Delray Medical Center. Before joining Cardiovascular Care at Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group, Dr. Kleinman worked as a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist at Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia. He also served as director of the electrophysiology lab at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.
He completed fellowships in cardiac electrophysiology at Allegheny University Medical Center in Philadelphia, Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York and a fellowship in cardiology from Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Kleinman finished his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, New York and graduated from medical school from New York University in New York, New York. His research has been published in several medical journals.
