When it comes to having a peace of mind during a legal family matter, Sam Troy is the attorney to call. Troy the owner and founder of Troy Legal, P.A., specializes in family law and serves all of South Florida while maintaining offices in Boca Raton and Miami.
“I want to fight for what’s reasonable and necessary in order to get the cases resolved, without dragging them out and costing the client’s money,” Troy says. Due to his resolution-based approach, Troy receives most of his referrals from clients and professionals in the industry, including other lawyers, accountants and mental
health professionals.
Opening his firm in 2009, Troy handles all aspects of family law: divorce, paternity, prenuptial agreements, alimony, child support, post judgment modification matters as well as domestic violence cases.
“Divorce is rarely an easy process, especially when kids are involved,” Troy says. “I help clients reconcile those tough situations because I know most people would ideally like to have an amicable relationship with the other party after the process is concluded.”
When he isn’t taking on family law cases in his practice Troy Legal, P.A., he also handles personal injury and commercial litigation cases with Brett Goldblatt, Esq. who is of counsel to the firm.
Troy is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator which allows him to mediate family law cases for both represented and unrepresented parties. The mediation process often includes disputes over property division, child support and alimony, as well as child-related issues. Troy is also certified in collaborative divorce, a process where the parties pledge not to litigate their disputes in order to settle outside of court.
“My first attempt is to always look for ways to resolve cases between parties before going to court, but if litigation is needed, I’m fully prepared to fight on the behalf of the clients,” he says. “I believe the strength of my practice is that I try to relate to the clients, listen to their needs and walk with them through this process, no matter how long it takes because why add more stress to an already intense endeavor.”
