Rosa Ribon, M.D.
Family Medicine Physician
Primary care medicine has been Rosa Ribon’s, M.D. cornerstone since she started practicing almost 14 years ago. As the Medical Director of UHealth Boca Raton, she oversees a multidisciplinary practice and works with patients to maintain wellness and prevent disease by promoting healthy habits, regular screenings and addressing their individual risk factors, while managing their chronic conditions.
What inspired Dr. Ribon to become a Family Medicine physician is her love for the combination of problem-solving and meaningful touchpoints with patients inherent in Family Medicine. These factors contribute to a practice that treats patients as a whole and serves the local community.
“Being a doctor was something I’ve wanted for as long as I can remember,” Dr. Ribon expresses. “I find the intellectual process of determining a proper diagnosis and treatment plan, while simultaneously forming a meaningful connection with my patients, endlessly fascinating.”
As a board-certified Family Medicine physician, Dr. Ribon ensures that her patients receive the most comprehensive and compassionate care available, allowing her to build long-term relationships with her patients and their families.
“I treat each patient as a whole person — not just a set of symptoms — and strive to understand the broader context of their lives, including their families, communities and day-to-day surroundings,” she shares.
“I’m also unique in that I’m part of the University of Miami Health System — the only academic medical center in South Florida,” Dr. Ribon explains.
“So, when my patients need advanced input, we can consult with our own experts, access advanced tests and trials, and coordinate all aspects of their care, so they never have to navigate the system alone.”
She also teaches University of Miami medical students, nurses and residents, thus empowering the next generation of medical professionals.
As if her bustling practice and teaching duties don’t keep her busy enough, Dr. Ribon also somehow finds time to volunteer at a local community clinic, where she provides her special brand of medical care to uninsured patients.
Those she treats can rest assured that Dr. Ribon will always endeavor to understand their daily lives, values and goals, and coordinate their care with empathy, clarity, and collaboration across a multispecialty academic system.
