Leanne Yarn
Residential Interior Design
With a passion for interior design from a young age, Leanne Yarn knew she was meant for the design world.
“My mother was an interior decorator; I still cannot believe where she found the time to do it while raising four children and owning a fashion boutique, but she loved it,” says Yarn, who started her own full-service residential design business, Yarn Design Associates, in 2016.

“I really enjoyed watching her work — she would bring me and my sister along to her installations and shop the furniture markets. I was always impressed by her talent, despite the fact that she had no formal training. My mother showed me that some things cannot be taught; you either have the eye and personality for this line of work or you don’t.”
Most recently, she and her team, together with Michael Burzesi of Coral Bay Builders, completed a new home in a contemporary style encompassing 7,255 square feet overlooking one of Boca Raton’s most prestigious golf courses.

“The view from this property is one of the most spectacular in the neighborhood,” says Yarn. “My clients loved it so much that they decided to tear down the existing home and rebuild, rather than relocate to realize their dream home. As a fitting homage, I designed an outdoor putting green on the second-floor balcony, as the home overlooks the 17th hole.”
Collaborating with Jay Colestock and Mark Muir of CMA Architects, Yarn sought to incorporate varying ceiling conditions to define and enhance the spaces.

“An open floor concept is what most people want; however, distinguishing one area from the next solely through furnishings and decorative light fixtures doesn’t always hit the mark. I love custom tailoring interesting ceiling designs that give that extra wow factor and help separate the rooms, while following the architecture of the home and maintaining that open feel.”
Yarn’s usage of layers, textures, patterns and material finishes skillfully livened up the homeowner’s requested monochromatic color palette. Pops of playful art and attractive lighting echo the design and build of this lavish estate.
“My goal is to always give the interior of a home the look and feel of elegance, while accomplishing all of my client’s desires. At the end of the day, my primary concern is client service and satisfaction, not just what looks pretty.”
Every detail is purposeful and carefully curated. The clubroom, a fan favorite amongst house guests, has a built-in bar, motorized seating for comfort and several custom millwork displays designed by Yarn to showcase the client’s sports memorabilia collection.
“Each selection is special and has its own presence,” says Yarn, adding that the project’s success reflects the client’s willingness to trust in her guidance.
“My clients’ confidence in the process and comfort granting a substantial level of creative freedom is key to keeping the home feeling fresh and light.”
