Roaring With Pride

Pulitzer Prize-Winning Journalist Jodi Kantor To Headline Lion Of Judah Luncheon

Hundreds of generous, committed members of the "pride" of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County will once again gather to rededicate and celebrate at the Lion of Judah Luncheon at The Polo Club of Boca Raton on Feb. 6.

Part of an international sisterhood 17,500 strong, the local Lion contingent of nearly 700 is among the largest in the country.

"We are thrilled that, this year, our Lions will be roaring with Jodi Kantor, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter and best-selling author," says Diane Feldman, who is co-chairing the luncheon with Barbara Werner. "Her work has revealed hidden truths about power, gender, technology, politics and culture and helped spark the #MeToo movement. We are excited to follow her behind the scenes of investigative journalism."

Werner adds: "Our luncheon is every season's premier event in local women's philanthropy. As always, we look forward to hearing our powerful roar resound through our neighborhoods to around the globe, wherever we are needed. Together, with compassion, creativity, generosity and perseverance, our Lions accomplish extraordinary things that make a vital difference in countless lives."

A Lion-level individual woman's gift to the federation's annual campaign is required to attend. Dietary laws will be observed. Glenmede is the sponsor of the Dorothy P. Seaman Department of Women's Philanthropy. The luncheon is sponsored by Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. Ivan & Co. Jewelers, Southern Glazer Wine & Spirits and Atlas Party Rental are in-kind sponsors, and The Boca Raton Observer is the event's exclusive magazine sponsor. O
