Friends Of The Israel Defense Forces To Host Gala - A Night Of Hope And Heroes

"Their job is to look after Israel. Ours is to look after them."

This is the motto of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), an organization that cares for the educational and well-being needs of Israel's soldiers. The FIDF Palm Beach/Broward Region, led by Executive Director Susan Levin-Abir and Director of Development Brian Sarran, is one of the organization's most active communities.

The region will kick off 2019 with an inspiring gala on Feb. 13 at The Polo Club of Boca Raton: A Night of Hope and Heroes. The evening will demonstrate the community's unwavering support for the brave men and women serving to protect the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

FIDF will honor Dr. Jeffrey and Barbara Feingold for their support of Israel's soldiers, including a recent transformational gift of a new synagogue and Torah scroll in southern Israel and contribution to the IMPACT! Scholarship Program.

Attending the event will be a delegation of uniformed IDF soldiers and officers as well as a variety of local and national dignitaries. The evening, beginning with a VIP sponsors reception, will give supporters the opportunity to meet and hear firsthand from some of the IDF soldiers whose lives have been forever changed by FIDF programs.

The nonprofit was founded in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors. FIDF is the only organization working directly with the IDF to determine and fulfill the soldiers' well-being needs and ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.

The Boca Raton Observer is the event's exclusive magazine sponsor. O
