How Sweet It Is

It’s Sugar’s Jeff Rubin Headlines Industry Icon Event

It’s sure to be a sweet night when business leaders and professionals have the opportunity to hear from sugar candy industry veteran Jeff Rubin at the Industry Icon Series May 5 at 6 p.m.

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s Business and Professionals’ Division is hosting the virtual event.

Rubin, a Candy Hall of Fame inductee, built his It’s Sugar brand into the largest and fastest-growing specialty candy retailer in the world with more than 100 storefronts, creating FAO Schweetz (the candy section in FAO Schwarz toy stores) in 1995 and co-founding Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City with Ralph Lauren’s daughter, Dylan, in 2001.

His latest location is the world’s first “candy department store,” spanning nearly 24,000 square feet over three levels.

He sold It’s Sugar in 2017 but remains CEO and Chief Gummy Bear.

“It’s exciting to learn from those at the top of their game, and we know that Jeff Rubin’s entrepreneurial experience and insights will be of high interest and great value to everyone across Business and Professionals’ broad range of industries and professions,” said Jonathan Schwartz, who co-chairs the Industry Icon Series with Fred Stern.

“The Business and Professional Division, co-chaired by Wendi Lipsich and Benji Gene, has built a diverse community of South Palm Beach County business leaders and professionals who look forward to regular gatherings,” added Stern. “We continually learn together as we make meaningful professional and personal connections that help build our businesses as well as our community.”
