LIFE’s 30th Annual Lady In Red Gala Raised $2 Million

Lois Pope and Jay Leno

On March 17 the 30th Annual Lady in Red Gala at The Breakers, hosted by Lois Pope and her LIFE Foundation, raised $2 million for the Lois’ Food4Kids program at the Palm Beach County Food Bank and the Pups4Patriots initiative at American Humane.

Nearly 700 guests enjoyed entertainment headlined by singer and songwriter Paul Anka and comedian and TV show host Jay Leno. They also enjoyed a cocktail hour featuring a performance of Broadway tunes played by the Palm Beach Symphony Orchestra and dinner followed by music and dancing to the sounds of the Danny Beck Band.

In her remarks to all the guests, Pope noted that the traditional

30th-anniversary gift is pearls and, as such, every woman in attendance received a gorgeous long-strand pearl necklace courtesy of Lugano Diamonds and its Co-Founder and CEO Moti Ferder.

Proceeds from the gala went to support the Lois’ Food4Kids and the Pups4Patriots initiative at American Humane. The former provides nutritious meals to thousands of underserved, low-income Palm Beach area students when they are not in school while the latter provides lifesaving service dogs to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress or traumatic brain injury.
