Ways To Add Extra Meaning To Your Hanukkah Celebration

The eight days of Hanukkah are truly miraculous - a special time to gather with loved ones, honor tradition and make some memories.

JNS.org offers these tips to infuse even more meaning into The Festival of Lights.

Make a Hanukkah craft. Anything from handprint menorahs on paper or popsicle stick Stars of David.

Throw a Hanukkah party. Gather or make decorations, rustle up some latkes, and enjoy the festivities.

Tour a Jewish museum. Or, if your neighborhood has lots of families who celebrate the holiday, wander around and enjoy the lights in the windows.

Have a dreidel tournament. Search online for rules or suggestions.

Talk about the Miracle. Spend 30 minutes discussing the significance of the holiday.

Shop for someone in need. Buy gifts or necessities for someone who doesn't have a lot of holiday cheer.

Re-enact the Hanukkah story. Or watch a video that depicts the meaning of the holiday.
