Sugar, Spice And Everything Nice

Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale Builds Life-Sized Gingerbread House

There's an enticing aroma emanating from Burlock Coast at The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale.

And it can be traced to the restaurant's 200-square-foot gingerbread house, made from scratch every year.

This is no tabletop display. The recipe calls for 1,000 pounds of dough, more than 1,400 bricks, 1,000-plus shingles - and a hefty dose of sugar, spice and everything nice.

Although it's stunning simply to look at the life-sized house, located in the hotel lobby, guests can also indulge in a festive meal inside the edible structure with the Holly Jolly Gingerbread Dining Experience.

Choose from breakfast, brunch or dinner, complete with a visit from Santa Claus. Various packages are available that include professional photos, luxe gifts and storytelling with Santa.
