High School Student Nicole Ged Helps Women And Children In Need
Nicole Ged is on a mission. The 17-year-old Saint Andrew’s senior is determined to help women and children in need.
To further her cause, she founded Operation WIN, a Boca Raton nonprofit that lends a helping hand to women experiencing financial hardship, abuse, harassment and other issues by connecting them with resources that offer tutoring, counseling, financial support, mentorship and more.
“We respect the humanity in those around us, and we offer help to give women and children some measure of dignity so they can start enjoying a better quality of life and feel better about who they are and what they can be,” notes the organization’s website.
Ged adds: “My family and church have always encouraged me to enrich my mind, body and spirit. This is also the motto of my school, Saint Andrew’s. Home, church and school, which is basically my life at 17, has helped develop my intellectual curiosities and my passion for helping others. We believe that providing these essential items, as well as connecting people to resources in the community, can have a positive impact on the world one person at a time.”
Operation WIN is a family affair, with her father, C. Glen Ged; her mother, Ronda Ellis; her brother, Glen Ged; and her grandmother Sonja Ellis, all serving as directors of the organization.
