A Mother Of A Concert

Looking for something to do this Mother’s Day? Why not take Mom, or head on over yourself (without the kids), to Miramar Beach in Florida’s panhandle for Brandi Carlile’s Mothership Weekend — a 3-day music vacation that takes place from May 12-14.

They have put together a weekend filled with Mom-ents, brunches (with Mom-osas!) and intimate music-filled evenings to celebrate mothers, mother figures, motherhood, mothering and all forms of chosen families.

The event takes place at the Seascape Resort and features a long list of music makers including Brandi Carlile, Hozier, Bonnie Raitt, Mavis Staples, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Danielle Ponder, The Milk Carton Kids, Katie Pruitt and Fancy Hagood. There also will be all kinds of other activities.

Singer-songwriter Carlile was nominated for seven 2023 Grammy awards and took home three golden gramophones — Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for “Broken Horses,” which she also performed at the award ceremony and Best Americana Album for “In These Silent Days.” That brought to nine the number of Grammy awards she’s won.
