Ask A Secret Question, Get A Free Cocktail

A Fun And Flavorful Way To Discover The Neighborhood

Miami’s top chefs and hospitality pros joined forces to form Finding MiMo — a neighborhood initiative to encourage diners to check out the city’s Upper Eastside, an area known for its Miami Modern (MiMo) architecture style.

Striking mid-century hotels and commercial buildings characterized by kitschy and often lavish design dot the 27 blocks between NE 50th and NE 77th street, many of them restored to create a new identity for the MiMo Biscayne Boulevard Historic District.

Besides an abundance of popular dining destinations housed inside retro-style structures, MiMo is home to independently-owned home décor shops and clothing boutiques.

The driving power behind the effort are managers from Phuc Yea, Cafe Kush, Blvd Bae’s, Vagabond Hotel, La Placita and The New Yorker Boutique Hotel.

Visiting guests only need ask, “Where’s Dory?” to receive a complimentary cocktail. Adding to the fun, diners can make an Instagram post with the hashtag #findingmimo and tag all six businesses. By doing so, they will be entered into a weekly drawing to win $120 in MiMo Dining Dollars ($20 to use at each location).

“We designed this campaign for our community first and foremost — we want our guests to journey out into the culinary landscape we’ve carved out here and get acquainted with it,” Ani Meinhold, co-owner at Phuc Yea said in a press release. “There’s serious culinary talent in MiMo and we’re so excited to showcase it through this unique collaboration.”

The promotion, which began May 5, has no end date as of press time.
