Boca Raton’s You Create Academy Featured On "Today"

We all have fond memories of summer camp: steadfast friendships, new experiences and lessons learned.

But the kids who recently attended Boca Raton’s You Create Academy, which trains youth to produce online video content, have something even more special for their scrapbooks. They were featured on the “Today” show this summer.

“Big business is being built on the back of a new generation of vlogging celebrities,” notes the YouTube page sharing the segment. “NBC’s Savannah Sellers goes inside You Create Academy in Boca Raton, where kids are learning all the skills they need to make and edit videos and market their brands.”

The camp, created by filmmaker and Boca Raton resident Dominic Giannetti, is designed to teach students (6-17 years old) methods of video production and editing along with online safety practices.

“When NBC producers decided to feature the popular, ever-growing YouTube craze amongst kids and teens, they knew they wanted to find a credible YouTube camp focused on education to underscore an important message,” notes Giannetti in a press release.

The academy also offers a program to prepare students for careers as actors, influencers and filmmakers.

Giannetti explains: “It offers an incredible ‘On Set Experience’ program through projects like the ‘Boca Witches’ TV series, a program that provides student and upcoming seasoned actors an opportunity to learn from a creative team of industry professionals while gaining real onset experience on professional TV shows and movies.”
