Designer Isaac Mizrahi To Headline JCC Event

Isaac Mizrahi seems to have it all: fame, fortune and fortitude.

The award-winning fashion designer established successful womenswear and menswear businesses before he was 30 years old. He designed for Target and QVC, created a one-man cabaret act and even became an author. The 57-year-old also develops television, theater and literature projects through his production company, Isaac Mizrahi Entertainment.

But it hasn’t been all glitz and glamour. Now, Mizrahi is sharing his lifelong battles with weight, insomnia and depression – and growing up gay in a Syrian Jewish Orthodox family. It all plays out in his new memoir “I.M.: A Memoir By Isaac Mizrahi,” in which he shares intimate details of his private life.

And he’ll be just as candid when he visits the Adolph & Rose Levis JCC in Boca Raton on March 13 for The Iconic Isaac Mizrahi in Person.

“In his elegant memoir, brimming with intimate details and inimitable wit, Isaac reveals not just the glamour of his years, but the grit beneath the glitz,” the JCC notes. “This is pure Isaac as only hecan tell it.”

Mizrahi has a packed itinerary in South Florida. On March 12, he will visit the Alper JCC in Miami for Tea With a Twist, Fashion Icon Isaac Mizrahi and then will trek tothe David Posnack JCC inDavie for Sip, Nosh andShop With Isaac Mizrahi.
