It’s A Balancing Act

Tips On Living A Balanced Life by Karen Rae

We could all use a little balance in our lives and Karen Rae, single mom, cancer survivor and blogger, is here to share some very uplifting messages.

Rae shares weekly tips on how to have a more balanced life in the 5 Fundamental Areas of Life – Faith, Family, Finances, Fitness and Friendships – based on her Balanced Life Planner and Journal by Karen Rae.

Here is some of her advice from a recent blog focusing on how to be thankful.

Journal

Write down things you are grateful for. The goal of the exercise is to reflect on the past day or week and write down three to five things you’re grateful for. Imagine your life without these things before you begin writing. This will really boost your feeling of gratitude!

Be Social

Focus on people you are thankful for. Perhaps write a letter to someone who has impacted you significantly, whom you’ve never been able to thank. You could also talk about the moments you’re grateful for at the dinner table.

Find Happiness in Other Areas of Your Life

Being happy can also make you feel more grateful. There are many ways to lift your mood, including participating in a hobby you love or exercising.

Find Gratitude in Challenging Times

Gratitude is not only about positive things. Dig a little deeper and try to figure out how your own past experiences have helped make you the person you are today.
