Jennifer ‘Gardener’ Tills The Soil

Farming Healthy Eating For Babies And Kids

by

You may know her best from her Capitol One ads where she asks: “What’s in your wallet?” Or maybe from her marriage to Ben Affleck. But did you know Jennifer Garner likes getting her hands dirty for a good cause?

Garner is co-founder of Once Upon a Farm, a company whose mission is to get babies and kids “access to fresh, nutritious food.” The actress, who is the mother of three children, has been an Ambassador for Save the Children since 2009. In fact, Once Upon a Farm has partnered with Save the Children and has made numerous donations over the years.

The farm in Oklahoma once belonged to Garner’s parents, though it had been bought and sold over the years by other family members until Garner purchased it in 2017. Garner, along with co-founders Ari Raz, John Foraker and Cassandra Curtis quickly got to tilling the soil.

Its first harvest was planted in 2018 and today you can find organic baby food pouches in stores around the country — from Target and Whole Foods to Walmart and Publix. You also can purchase them directly from the company’s website. From Wild Rumpus Avocado to Magic Velvet Mango, these cold-pressed meals are all organic. The ingredients the company uses to make these products are “sustainably grown, certified USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified,” and the fruits and veggies don’t “contain preservatives, colors, concentrates or added sugars.”

Garner’s Instagram account is filled with photos and videos of her work on the farm. She says getting homemade food into the hands of busy moms is important to her.
